Lunar Occultation of Saturn on Nov 3, 2001

On the night of November 3/4, 2001, planet Saturn was occulted by the Moon. Weather was very cooperative over Belgium, so we had the luxury to observe this spectacular event from CBA Belgium Observatory. Below is a series of CCD images, that were acquired using our 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and unfiltered SBIG ST-7 CCD. Most exposures were about 0.1 seconds.
All images are composites of two separate frames : one having the lunar surface properly exposed, the other one having Saturn clearly depicted. The top row is showing the occultation of Saturn, the bottom row the reappearance.
