The AAVSO VSX info window establishes a connection with the AAVSO VSX database to fetch the latest information about the star provided in the Variable star name field. Simply click the Lookup button to initiate the connection. 


The information retrieved from the AAVSO VSX database includes the J2000.0 coordinates of the star, its unique AAVSO designation (AUID), as well as details about its variability type, magnitude range and period. The example below pertains to the star V1062 Tau.
